2nd revival - april 18th

The first time Pascal woke up like this, she was confused. She knew what had happened to her and what caused it, but she'd questioned why she never joined her parents in the afterlife. Death was inescapable, and for anyone to thwart death in the way Haven did meant that they were either a god or a demon. Pascal wasn't knowledgeable to Haven's accomplishments, not as much as she is now, and her confusion turned to fear and despair when Hubert entered the picture and reacted in the manner he did. His tears, his kiss, her tears and his comforts: they were all still very much fresh on Pascal's mind, even long after she had gotten over the shock of her first death.

When she wakes up again after an indeterminable amount of time, she feels oddly at peace about it. The smell of dust and metal is fresh on her mind, just as it was when she was first revived so many months ago, and it leaves her with an odd sense of calm. She knows what happened, to an extent. She remembered Tess biting her, she remembers running away and being in severe pain. She remembers how much her head hurt and how it felt like there was something growing in it, overtaking her brain until there was nothing left. She remembers long before that, when Tess explained that her world was overtaken by a mutant strain of cordyceps: one that targeted humans rather than bugs. She remembers the fungus growing on Tess's face and the sores that appeared on her skin after their encounter.

It didn't take long for Pascal to put two and two together.

She died again, and it wasn't that surprising. Pascal knew for sure that she was dying then: after being in such unbearable pain, how could it bring anything but death? No, what worried her was what happened after her initial death. If what happened to Tess happened to her, then that meant she ended up like her and was reduced to nothing more than a flesh-thirsty zombie. Did she attack anyone? Did she attack her family or her friends? Who was the one that finally did her in? Was it a stranger or one of her friends? Was it one of her family? Was it Asbel, or Sophie, or... or Hubert?

Hubert.

Her head turns towards the general vicinity of the neighboring room, where her ally has been staying. If there was one thing Pascal sincerely hoped for, it's the very same thing she hoped for before finally falling into Death's embrace: that Hubert didn't find her. Whether it was to save her own skin or to save Hubert's sanity, she couldn't say for sure, but one thing was for sure: she didn't want to see Hubert cry over her again. She remembers when he'd found her after she woke up from her first death: he was hysterical-- not quite wailing, but there were tears and there was plenty of yelling at her ("Don't you understand what happened?! You weren't saved by Kurt to follow in his footsteps and fall in the very same way!"), and she... she didn't want to see it again. Seeing Hubert behave in any way other than the prudish, by-the-book military officer that she was so familiar with terrified her then, and she's not sure how she'd feel if he found her corpse again, if he started crying and yelling at her again, especially with how fragile their relationship is now.

She's quiet as she turns her head back to the frame of the bed above her, staring in silence as she continues to contemplate things. She'll have to find whoever it was that landed the final blow on her. She'll have to find her friends to make sure they were okay, and be on the lookout for people she may have bitten. She has to go apologize to her family and to Hubert, especially for having this happen to her so soon after Sophie's own death, and...

She slaps both of her hands to her face the moment her thoughts delve into the topic of the blue-haired lieutenant again.

"I am so dead."
